A habitat assessment of a stream and its corridor will help you understand the stream's ability to support aquatic life​. It will also serve as an indication of the stream's stability within the surrounding environmental conditions.  A habitat assessment is one component of KWW stream monitoring that can also include water chemistry readings, bacteriological (E. coli) analysis, and a biological assessment. 

We strongly encourage our samplers to complete this assessment annually to track any changes to habitat.  Sometime between the May and July Sampling events is a good time to do it!
