Get started on your way to stream sampling with our online modules!
A habitat assessment of a stream and its corridor will help you understand the stream's ability to support aquatic life. It will also serve as an indication of the stream's stability within the surrounding environmental conditions. A habitat assessment is one component of KWW stream monitoring that can also include water chemistry readings, bacteriological (E. coli) analysis, and a biological assessment.
We strongly encourage our samplers to complete this assessment annually to track any changes to habitat. Sometime between the May and July Sampling events is a good time to do it!
